TORONTO– Durham MPP Todd McCarthy is very pleased to be appointed as Parliamentary Assistant to the President of the Treasury Board. In addition to his duties as MPP and Parliamentary Assistant to the President of the Treasury Board, MPP McCarthy was also appointed Deputy Government Whip.  MPP McCarthy was sworn into the position on June 29, 2022 at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

Parliamentary Assistants work with Ministers in carrying out Government duties,  communicating and supporting them as required, including special projects and assignments. MPP McCarthy says his career experience as a small business owner and a lawyer makes him a perfect fit for this role.

MPP McCarthy says he is super excited to take his seat in the Legislature when it reconvenes in August to pass Budget 2022 which was introduced in April by the Honourable Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance.

“I’m excited, humbled and honoured to have the opportunity to work directly with Minister Sarkaria” says MPP McCarthy. “This file is really important with the additional components like Emergency Management. I can’t wait to get to work for the people of Ontario and the great riding of Durham”
